Default Moving Foward

We shifted our efforts to the foredeck. The original deck beams were originally laminated and had come apart due to the glue failing. We could have reglued them back together, but decided to just cut new ones out of solid stock. It would have taken more time to scrape off all the old glue and re-glue them than just making new ones. Here are the new beams going in.

Default Fore Deck

After a lot of interuptions do to the many issues of day to day living, the framing for the fore deck is more or less done. Here's the before and after. If you look closely, you can see the bottom of beam #4 has totally delaminated from the rest of the beam due to glue failure. All of the rest of the beams had various amounts of delamination also. Too bad they didn't have epoxy glue back then. A laminated beam is superior if it is done properly.
