Default Windsong #3 Latest

We liked the open transom Tbird look so much we decided to see how Windsong looked with it.
Actually, a previous repair was improperly done, so we decided to redo it. Gluttons for punishment I guess.

Default New pic

Now that it is warming up, the restoration process has restarted. We just haven't been very motivated during the cold weather. Hard to work on it outside when it's so cold the epoxy won't cure.

it's time the world knows about these remarkable guys, the amazing work they do and the incredible story of Vivachee's ressurection.

Default Go for it

Knock yourself out Matt, you know our names, where we live, and what we work on for fun/punishment. If you want the video's in digital form, let me know. I'll have Kevin pick them up, next time he gets off the rock. Someday we'll have the whole series completed.

No, I've already got them digi'd but if you do, why don't you upload them yourself? mine are conversions of the tapes, quality is not that good, maybe yours are originals...?

if you need to know, here's how:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFyIT7rVZ0Q

if you need to squish them (youtube = 100mb limit), you can use the trial of sony's vegas movie studio:

http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/.../moviestudiope

if for some reason you still need me to i will but if you have digital originals, let me know and yes, do send them along.

it's time, the world needs to know.

Default 51 years ago

Working on these old hulls sometimes is like being an archeologist. You never know what the next layer down will uncover sometimes.
When we pulled off the fiberglass on the hull sides we could see old pencil lines and notations written on the hull from when it was built. Yesteday, we were scraping the old paint off the stem and forepeak and uncovered a notation written on the stem " WL3A". One wonders if it was Ed Hoppen himself who wrote that on the stem 51 years ago.
The next picture shows how it looks after a coat of penetrating epoxy and varnish. If you look closely, in the background are Blackbird #199 and Feather #431, waiting for their owners to show up and work on them.
